Participating in group assessment

If you teach ENG 071, ESL 077, ENG 101 or ENG 107, we invite you to participate in a group activity for assessment of student writing. As we have done in previous semesters, we ask you to have students submit essays electronically for assessment activities.

For ENG 101 or ENG 107, we recommend you participate using  the argumentative essay (documented or not).  If you do not require an argumentative essay (but we hope you do), you can still participate by using the last or next-to-last essay of the semester that represents student writing achievement at the end of the course.  For ENG 071 or ESL 077, we recommend you use the final essay you assign in the course. We will use these essays for assessment activities in January.  All essays will have identifying information removed before they are read in January.

Please tell us if you are going to participate in group assessment by submitting this form.

If you prefer to do an individual assessment project, or if you teach courses other than ESL 077, ENG 071, ENG 110 and ENG 107,  you are responsible for designing and completing an individual assessment activity.
