Pichia pastoris Protein Project

 

More information to come regarding an exciting GCC Biotech project involving protein synthesis in Pichia pastoris, a methylotrophic (methanol-metabolizing) yeast!

 

Algal Separation Project

 

As a necessary step in the production of algae-based, renewable biofuels, club members will be conducting an isolation of hydrocarbon material, obtained from the separation of Chlamydomonas algae into two phases, one that can be used as a fuel source, and another that can be utilized as cosmetic ingredient!
