Agave angustifolia

The origin of this plant is unknown but probably is in the locale of Jalisco in Mexico and in Costa Rica.  It has proven quite hardy in Phoenix surviving to 25°F putting it in USDA zone 9-10.  It will survive in full sun but can also do well and even better in filtered shade.  It forms a succulent rosette up to 3' in diameter of light green to gray green leaves.  It is quite drought tolerant in the low desert but also can handle more water than most other species.
