Cylindropuntia acanthocarpa v.
coloradensis- This cholla species has slender green stems with individual joints 6-12" in length and inch thick covered with 1" spines. It is not a large grower often only 4-5' overall. Blooms April to May producing 1" dry spines covered fruit. Native from Southern Utah into Mexico on desert mesas and slopes from 500-3000' in elevation. |
