Cylindropuntia bigelovii-Teddy Bear Cholla
Cactaceae Family

The spines densely cover the branches of this cactus with 3/4" straw colored spines and seem to look soft and fuzzy.  This plant can grow to 5' high and may have shorter lateral branches.  The flowers appear in February to May and are greenish yellow.  Fruit is green, fleshy and oval shaped. It is native from SW Utah into Mexico under 3000' in elevation. The branches can easily attach themselves to animals or people being that the spines are barbed.
