Quercus virginiana

Majestic and long lived, crown can spread twice its height. pH adaptable, drought tolerant and of poor sols does not tolerate poorly drained or extremely well drained deep sand. Small leathery gray green leaves are evergreen except in 7a. Susceptible to oak wilt fungus but perhaps not as severely as Quercus fusiformis. Somewhat cold sensitive in northern parts.
