Introduction to Business

WELCOME to John Gibson's GBS151 course website at Glendale Community College!

About the Course: As you can imagine from the image above, this course has become increasingly global - because the business world is changing fast. So you will be using computers, trying business simulations, working on projects, analyzing situations, discussing the job market, etc. You will be working individually and in teams. And you will hopefully also have the opportunity to interact with other business students from around the world. Although we will be using a great deal of current business material from the Internet, the course has the following schedule (corresponding to parts of your textbook):

• GBS151 Textbook - Foundations of Business (2nd Edition) by Pride, Hughes, & Kapoor:
  • This traditional softcover textbook is available in our college bookstores.
  • Great deals are available on the Internet.
  • At all locations, plenty of used editions should be available!
  • There is also the publisher's student website - helpful, but not required.
