            * Exp 54: Qualitative Organic Analysis:

                This is a three week lab where your objective will be to identify a solid or liquid unknown by characterizing

                its MP or BP, solubility properties, functional group(s) it contains, and spectroscopic properties.

                        First Week: You will determine the MP or BP of your unknown, and then determine solubility properties;

                                 (Prelab "Objective" only (no "Compounds Used" or "Calculations").  You will write your Procedure

                                   and record your Data as you go)

                        Second Week: You will perform tests to determine the functional groups present, and;

                        Third Week: You will be given the proton and carbon NMR data, and perform an IR of your compound.
