About the Author

Toni McClory teaches political science at Glendale Community College. Before assuming her current teaching career she practiced law in Arizona for over eighteen years. She served as an Arizona assistant attorney general from 1976 to 1991, a period spanning six governors. Her practice focused on constitutional law, election issues, public records, local government, and consumer fraud. A clerkship with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and a brief stint as a judge pro tem for the Arizona Court of Appeals provided additional opportunities for observing the inner workings of government. She has resided with her husband in Phoenix since 1973.
